Warehouse storage space is scarce, so maximizing storage capacity to increase profitability and material handling efficiency makes sense.
Optimize Your Warehouse Layout Design
Analyze the physical characteristics of the warehouse, the materials you need to store, and the material flow. Then, slot the warehouse to optimize storage.
Frequently picked items should be stored near the front to minimize travel time within the warehouse. Small and large items should be stored in different racks to optimize shelf spacing and reduce the chance of losing the small items.
Use All the Space You Have Effectively
Warehouse space management requires thinking in multiple directions, including vertical ones. Instead of adding more square footage, you can build it with the right industrial storage systems.
Using all of the available vertical space will free up square footage and allow for increased business opportunities, enabling a more effective warehouse design. The proper storage and racking system can make all the difference in operational efficiency.
These are just a few suggestions for when a new account comes in. More will be coming next week…
